The film continues to receive critical acclaim.
Boulder, Colorado, October 8, 2019 – The Redstone Pack, a film created by Parallel Path, a full-service marketing agency, and Roos Brothers, a directing and producing team, is a finalist in the 2019 Banff Mountain Film Competition.
The film follows Grand Junction resident Aaron Natoniewski – from his impromptu leap into the world of dog sledding to his methodical approach to the sport and understanding of his dogs. ‘The Redstone Pack’ is part of the award-winning Life on the Western Slope (LOWS) film series, created during an ongoing integrated marketing campaign Parallel path has developed for Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP).
“The power to connect with your audience through compelling storytelling is the ambition of great marketers. We are fortunate to have a client partner in Rocky Mountain Health Plans who understand the power of real connections. ‘The Redstone Pack’ is a story of the authentic Western Slope of Colorado. It’s the story of the extraordinary ordinary neighbors served by Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Our film partners, the Roos Brothers, capture the essence of the subjects in the series an in turn the people who have been part of the Rocky Mountain Health Plans community for over 40 years. We are honored to have these films selected for the Banff. ”

Grand Junction-based insurance provider Rocky Mountain Health Plans serves individuals and families in Colorado. The film series was born when the company tasked Boulder-based Parallel Path to develop a campaign to increase awareness during the 2017-18 open enrollment period. The LOWS films are an anchoring component of the strategy that the agency designed for RMHP – one based on authenticity that continues to create memorable, entertaining, and meaningful connections with audiences across the region. Case in point, each of the films in the series features a real person; no actors or scripts are used during the shoots. Parallel Path brought the talented Roos Brothers on board to direct, shoot and edit the films. The two have formed a close partnership that in of itself is an interesting story.
The fully integrated, multi-channel brand campaign launched in October 2017 and has driven over 11 million film views to the first 6 films in the series. In addition to the full-length films, the video content was also edited for television commercial spots, movie theater screens and digital video ads.
Two new films in the LOWS series
Two new films in the series were just released in October 2019: one featuring off-road racer Andy Blood, who returned to racing after a T-12 spinal cord injury caused him to become paraplegic. He and his wife, Sara Garriques, founded the Blood Brothers Foundation to fund vehicle modifications so others living with physical disabilities can also find a sense of freedom. Another film features world-renowned guitarist Javier de los Santos, now based in Grand Junction but who has been invited to perform classical guitar from the Southwest to Spain to South America.
