Cinematic films feature real stories of Rocky Mountain Health Plan members
BOULDER, Colo., May 4, 2018 – A film series created by Parallel Path, a full-service marketing firm, and Roos Brothers, a directing and producing team that is a close partner of the agency, was selected for the 2018 Brand Film Festival in the ‘Short-form Documentary Series’ category at the May 3 event in New York. The work, RMHP Presents: Life On The Western Slope, is a series of three cinematic videos created for Parallel Path client Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) as part of a 2017-18 brand campaign.
“The Brand Film Festival films tend to be global agencies and brands, so we were honored to represent Colorado,” said Hardy Kalisher, executive vice president for Parallel Path. “RMHP has been an incredible partner on this journey and we look forward to continuing our work together telling the stories of Life on the Western Slope.”
The fully integrated, multi-channel brand campaign ran from October 2017 to January 2018 and drove over 6.3 million film views. In addition to the full-length films, the video content was also edited for commercials that ran on television, movie theater screens and digital video ads. An overview of the whole campaign in our case study.
Grand Junction-based insurance provider RMHP serves individuals and families on Colorado’s Western Slope. The company tasked Boulder-based Parallel Path, its partner of five years, to develop a campaign to increase awareness during the 2017-18 open enrollment period.
Parallel Path designed a strategy based on authenticity that provides a glimpse into the lives of real people – members of RMHP – to create a memorable, entertaining and meaningful interaction. Parallel Path brought the talented Roos Brothers on board to direct, shoot and edit the films.
Real People, Real Stories
Each of the three films in the series features an authentic subject, and there were no actors or scripts used during the 14-day shoot on the Western Slope. The theme behind the campaign is how protection inspires the confidence to pursue life passions, relish in family activities and achieve goals. RMHP’s ‘Life on the Western Slope’ member stories include:
- We Protect Family – Eric Farr has traveled the world performing gravity-defying, freestyle motocross stunts, a demanding profession that puts him on the road often. He cherishes every moment with his son and wife, and with a baby girl on the way, there isn’t anywhere he’d rather be than home with his family.
- We Protect Trailblazers – Tianna Davis is a bonafide modern cowgirl and trailblazer. She runs her own rodeo and rides 1,500 lb. bulls, bucking tradition and following her passions.
- We Protect the Future – Jojo Whitaker came to live with Doug and ReChelle Evans as a misunderstood boy. After welcoming him into their rugby family, it didn’t take long for Jojo to realize his potential. Through the Grand Junction Griffins Rugby Club, the Evans’ have provided futures for many young men like Jojo and built a forever bond of family.
